The Passions of Mabel Dodge Luhan
THE PASSIONS OF MABEL DODGE LUHAN, Written and Performed by Leslie Harrell Dillen from the writings of Mabel Dodge Luhan
Directed by Kent Kirkpatrick
An emotionally charged and inspiring one-woman show based on the writings of Mabel Dodge Luhan, the notorious, much-married art patron and symbol of the New Woman in the early 20th century. Mabels life connected important social and intellectual issues as well as artists and writers such as Georgia OKeefe, D. H. Lawrence and Willa Cather. Mabel conducts one of her famous Evenings with the audience a wild and humorous exploration of a passionate past, and a call to arms for an invigorated future. Leslie and Mabel speak imaginatively and powerfully to both women and men today. There is a fire that burns in us, yes in all of us, that is the sexual fire sublimated and become divine.
