CBACT Children's Theatre Festival
The Consortium of Boston Area Children's Theatres, together with JCC Kaleidoscope and Showstoppers at Leventhal JCC in Newton, is excited to present the Fifth Annual CBACT Children's Theatre Festival. Join us for a day of shows, workshops, networking and fun. We have a full schedule showcasing some of the Boston area's best youth theatre companies through shows and workshops. You can go for the full day or just see specific shows (workshops are free to all show goers).
Here's the schedule:
9:00am - Registration
9:30am - 5:30pm - Buy a FULL DAY ticket for $20 and see all the shows and attend the workshops.
9:30am - Concord Youth Theatre presents "Charlotte's Web" preceded by excerpts from "Strega Nona" presented by JCC Kaleidoscope and Showstoppers.
10:30am - Workshop Hour: "Auditioning" (for parents and kids) - The Un-Common Theatre Co "Theatre Games" (ages 6-9) - South Shore School of Theatre "Improv Sports" (ages 13-up) - Watertown Children's Theatre
11:30am - JCC Kaleidoscope and Showstoppers presents "Once on This Island", preceded by excerpts from "Children of Eden" presented by the South Shore School of Theatre. PLUS Workshops: "Create a Play" (ages 9-12) - Open Road Theatre "Making Puppets" (ages 6-9) - South Shore School of Theatre
12:30pm - Lunch (available for advance purchase here), networking and Karaoke
1:30pm The Un-Common Theatre Company's Improv Soup Troupe preceded by excerpts from "Urinetown" presented by Performing Arts Center of Metrowest. PLUS Workshop: "Dance for kids" (ages 6 - 9) - The Acton Cooperative Theatre
2:30pm - Workshop Hour: "Glorious Chorus" (ages 6-9) - Watertown Children's Theatre "Creating Characters" (ages 10-14) - Concord Youth Theatre "Hip Hop Dance" (ages 13-up) - The Acton Cooperative Theatre Theatre Artist Panel for Parents - South Shore School of Theatre
3:30pm - The Acton Children's Theatre presents "Why Penguins Can't Fly and Other Tales" preceded by excerpts from "The Wizard of Oz" presented by Lexington Youth Theatre PLUS a workshop "Creating Theatre about Social Issues" (ages 13-up) - Triboro Youth Theatre and South Shore School of Theatre
4:30pm - Performing Arts Center of Metrowest presents "Anything Goes" preceded by excerpts from "Aladdin Jr" presented by The Un-Common Theatre Company.
NOTE: Buy tickets in advance of the Festival and be entered in a raffle for a basket of tickets from all of the participating Theatre Companies :-) 6 raffle tickets for a full day ticket purchased or 1 raffle ticket for each single show ticket purchased.
