Matt Miner Presents, sponsor Hearing Health and O'Connor's Vault welcome singer-songwriters Lincoln Crockett and Pat Hull in Concert, Wednesday June 22 at 7:00pm.

Lincoln Crockett http://www.lincolncrockett.com is one of the finest of the new breed of Portland-based singer-songwriters, and a wizard with a mandolin.  Lincoln's occasional collaborator Chris Kokesh calls his music A kick in the pants with a hug.  Like Hey, wake up and I understand, were all in this together.  Once ubiquitous on the Portland pub scene, Lincoln is currently a scarce sighting having settled into a less frenetic domestic lifestyle in Trout Lake, Washington.

It will be hard to avoid comparisons to Nickel Creek's Chris Thile, but that might be more happenstance than anything stylistically plagiaristic. Crockett owns the requisite high-and-lonesome voice -- plaintive, achingly bittersweet and clear as creekwater, without a hint of vibrato -- and he's not afraid to use it. Like Thile, he's fearless and playful, but can clearly stand on his own.

He is also a fiery player who slashes his custom twin-point mandolin when called for, but who displays a feather-light touch on the tender tunes. Crockett has a predilection for more complex chording, and he lets that predilection shine. Don Campbell - The Oregonian

Pat Hull pathullmusic.com, originally from Connecticut, is currently based out of Chico, California. With unpredictable hooks and interesting turns, his music intertwines melodic vocals and finger picked guitar to create dreamy landscapes.
Pat's newest release, In the Yellow Room, highlights his years-long musical chemistry with bassist Mark Robertson and drummer Bob Reynolds. With Pats brilliant, soaring voice that evokes such iconic artists as Neil Young and Jeff Buckley and backed by his bands deep, melodic instrumentation, In the Yellow Room is a raw musical statement from one of Americas freshest and most innovative storytellers.

Pat's previous releases, Light and Shed Skin were recorded and produced in Bennington, Vermont with engineer JJ Beck and vocalist Michael Chinworth. The new collaborative effort brought a vocally and lyrically charged center to Pats songwriting. Before this collaboration and joining Subtle Soup Records, Pat released 3 albums from Chico, CA with engineer/producer Scott Barwick: Forever's Night (2009), Pat Hull (2009), and Fable Names (2010).

Immediate reactions were to Hulls Neil Young-huffing-helium vocal range, but after those early assessments, we all realized that he was a goddamn genius.
