Allysen Callery, Ava Callery and Vudu Sister
We are delighted to host the Rhode Island CD release show for Allysen Callery's "The Song the Songbird Sings."
Everyone who attends the concert will receive a free copy of the CD.

Joining ALLYSEN will be her daughter AVA CALLERY,  and Providences VUDU SISTER a kindred, if spookier spirit .

"Artist Allysen Callery is back with a new release that reaffirms her reputation as a leading singer-songwriter. The Song the Songbird Sings is the Bristol, Rhode Island guitarists first full length album since Mumblin Sue, her outstanding 2013 release that caught the ear of American and European audiences. The new release highlights her trademark British folk revival sound of the 60s and 70s which this time includes layers of sonic colour from guitar wiz BOB KENDALL.

Her lilting voice and heartfelt lyrics are eerily close to the work of the late British songstress Sandy Denny, the highest compliment I could hand down to this brilliant artist.- Paste Magazine

She has been called The Tim Burton of Folk Music , her quiet & dark style has made her a favorite of artists & critics alike,
including Marissa Nadler who listed Winter Island in her Best Albums of 2011.

In 2014 she played multiple showcases at the SXSW (South by Southwest) festival, and was ranked highly by The Washington Post & out of 1500 acts made a list of 40 by NPR s Bob Boilen for Intriguing unknown artists.
When shes not singing with the sumptuous group Haunt The House, Allysen Callery is bringing back to life the delicate and soul-stirring sounds of the folk revival that swept through the UK in the 60s and 70s. In fact, her lilting voice and heartfelt lyrics are eerily close to the work of the late British songstress Sandy Denny, the highest compliment I could hand down to this brilliant artist. Its little wonder then that she has gained a welcome audience in Europe, where she will be touring this coming fall. Now its time for folks in her home country to sit up and take notice.   Robert Ham for Paste Magazine , July 14, 2014

Its been three years since Mumblin Sue, the last full-length album from folk singer-songwriter Allysen Callery  not that she hasnt been busy. In 2014 she released her Folk Radio UK EP and played Austin, Texas South By Southwest festival, earning her praise from The Washington Post and NPR, and last year she joined local folk act Haunt the House at the Newport Folk Festival. On top of all that Allysen has been a mainstay of the local scene. In May she released her latest record, The Song the Songbird Sings.
Songbird continues in the ethereal tradition of Allysens previous records. With fingers dancing across acoustic strings and that voice, lovely and straight-out-of-Lothlorien otherworldly, Allysen stands out from the areas predominantly roots and Americana styled folk scene. Tracks like Bluest Bird and Snow Fox harken back to traditional British folk, though Shoot Me has her putting a bluesy-twist on her ghost whisper vocals.
