Hot Club Philly with Howard Alden
We are pleased to be performing again with our friend guitarist Howard Alden. Master of 6 and 7 string guitar, he's played on the soundtrack of films like 'Sweet and Lowdown, Woody Allen's story about a Django Reinhardt wannabe, played by Sean Penn. As jazz critic Wayne Thompson writes simply, in Jazzscene, "If there are better young jazz guitar players in America than Howard Alden, I have yet to hear them." The show will also feature vocalist Laura Munich, on her interpretations of material ranging from French chanson, to the Great American songbook. Bassist Dylan Taylor, long time fixture on the Philly Jazz scene will keep the grooves poppin'.Barry Wahrhaftig, founder of the Hot Club of Philadelphia will also be featured on guitar and vocals.
