Woodstock Sessions is honored to present FIREJELLY (Medeski,Fiuczynski & Weston) for a day-long intensive masterclass/workshop and recording event on the farm at Applehead Recording in Woodstock NY
Attendees will have the rare experience of witnessing and participating in the recording of a live in-studio album with John Medeski, David Fiuczyinski and G. Calvin Weston.
We will also be presenting master musicians John Medeski and David Fiuczyinski in a rare day-long master class/workshop.
All attendees will receive:
-admission to the masterclass & recording
-catered dinner
-limited edition numbered and signed 180 gram vinyl of the FIRE JELLY Woodstock Sessions release
-all digital media produced from the days events (hi res audio and video)
APPROXIMATE SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:
12pm-1:30pm Masterclass Part 1
1:30pm -3pm Masterclass Part 2
3pm-5pm Masterclass Part 3 (collaboration/interaction/Q&A)

7-11 Recording FireJelly
MEDESKI will be exploring his approach to improvisation in both ensemble and soloing contexts, with the aim of "making every note count".
He will also share his tone shaping techniques for both the studio and live settings.
FIUCZYNSKI will discuss and demonstrate basic comping ideas for guitar players and instrumentalists in general: laying out, creative ignorance ;-), interacting,
Playing in "odd" time: simple ideas to creatively comp and solo in 5/4, 7/4 and more
Sharing and demonstrating microtonal concepts in theory and practice.
They will work separately and together.
Attendees are encouraged to engage these masters with questions, concepts and to be an integral part of this rare opportunity!
