The Hard Candy Cabaret
The Russian River Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence would like to invite one and all for an evening of entertainment and nunsense at The Hard Candy Cabaret at Main Street Bistro on Sunday, June 12, 2016. The Sisters will be serving up songs, silliness, and sauciness with the help of headliner, Tom Orr, and other SURPRISE guests. Diners are invited to indulge in food and drink from Main Street Bistros extensive menu and full bar. Proceeds from the cabaret will go back into the community via the Sisters Grants Fund. A silent auction and raffle of amazing items will also be available to patrons. Event organizer, Novice Sister Candy D'Apples says, I have been eagerly awaiting the chance to bring my vision of a fun-filled evening of song and entertainment to my community for quite a while now. What better way to do this than with the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence and some of the multi-talented members of our community!
Tom Orr, a former Seattle actor/playwright/director/journalist, is best known by local audiences for his Dirty Little Showtunes! revues. Orr has just the right mixture of show biz nerd and driven genius-and the audience clearly loves his interpretation. Sister Wilma Titzgro (the girl works hard for her money) a former member of the Missionary Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence and brilliant drag performer, plans to titillate you with songs about prostitution from a delightful old Broadway musical called The Life. Sister Wilma can be seen at many boisterous events around the lower Russian River, including Bar Bingo at the R3 on Thursday nights. Another nun of many talents is Sister Peghan Ritual, a transplant from the mean streets of San Francisco, where she has entertained as a singer/actor/performer/minister. Sister Peghan will be keeping her songs under wraps until the night of the performance due to their rather licentious nature, keeping us all breathless with... anticipation! If you see the vice squad coming- lock the doors!!
Sister Frances A. Sissy will enthrall you with a number from the beloved movie The Color Purple and Sisters Viv Acious and Sorenda daBooty will offer a tribute to the late musical genius, Prince.
Sister Beatrix Uppersleeve will also be performing both a solo, and a duet with her daughter Novice Sister Candy D'Apples. Novice Sister Candy will perform several numbers in her gorgeous baritone.
Hard Candy Cabaret will be held at one of the Russian Rivers favorite performance venues, Main Street Bistro, located at 16280 Main Street, in Guerneville. The show starts at 8:00 pm. Tickets are $10 in advance on the Sisters website, http://www.rrsisters.org or $15 at the door.
Hard Candy Cabaret is a benefit for the Russian River Sisters Grants Fund. The Sisters award grants during the observance of their anniversary celebration on Good Friday each year. Those unable to attend who wish to make a donation to the fund may do so on the Sisters website: http://www.rrsisters.org/donate.html. Russian River Sisters, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, Federal Tax ID 20-0209982. Donations are tax deductible.
If youd like to be an event sponsor, donate items for the raffle or auction, or ask questions about this event, please call Novice Sister Candy D'Apples at (561)339-7147 or send an email to her at k_mikulak@yahoo.com. Organizing and producing this event will fulfill requirements needed for the novice sisters progression from novice to a fully professed member of the order.
Thank you! We love you and there aint a damn thing you can do about it!
