Spike Heels
Pygmalion goes awry in this contemporary comedy of manners which explores sexual harassment, misplaced amour, and the possibility of a four sided love triangle. The combatants are a sexy, volatile young woman and three Back Bay types a writer, a lawyer and a fiancee in sensible shoes. The setting is Boston, the ending is happy and laughter abounds.
The play is Directed by Debra Ann Register. Debra Ann Register has directed many plays in Boston and New York City including several of her own works of which she has written over twenty. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Salem State College in Theatre Arts, and a Masters of Education from Lesley College. Ms. Register is so pleased to be working with this incredible cast and thanks Leila for this wonderful opportunity.
This production will be held at The Producers Club. It is starring Leila Berkane, Joe Reece, Anthony Subietas, Megan Oots.
Leila Berkane studied in Ireland at the Royal Irish Academy of Music and the Irish Film Academy before coming to New York to continue her performing arts training at the Lee Strasberg Theater and Film Institute. Representative roles include Jackie on Mauritius, Doris in The Owl and The Pussycat, Tracey in Seascape with Sharks and Dancer, Rose in The Woolgatherer and Stella in Streetcar Named Desire.
Joe Reece is a native of Kansas City and a proud graduate of the University of Central Missouri's BFA Acting Program. Megan is thrilled to be making her NYC theatrical debut as Lydia in Spike Heels. Her professional theatre credits include Trouble in Mind at Triad Stage and The Crucible at The NC Shakespeare Festival. After graduating from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a BFA in Theatre, she moved to Brooklyn to experience big city life. When she isnt eating, working, or sleeping, she enjoys yoga, painting, making facemasks, writing, playing with puppies, and taking long walks. She would like to thank her parents, siblings, and Brooklyn Wildlife family for their love and support.
