Wave 16 is the newest no-genre-specific, all-girl group comprised of Kyana, Kiara, Moniece, and Rebecca. Representing the boroughs of Brooklyn and Queens, these four young ladies have transformed their experiences into the only songs you should be listening to all summer '16. Brought together through vibe theater experience's songmakers' program, Wave 16 hopes their lyrics "will make you feel it."

Kyana Manning, 16 Kyana Manning is a proud Trinidadian-American Brooklyn native with a passion for writing and saying it how it is. Currently a student at Urban Assembly of Math and Science for Young Women, Kyana aspires to become a forensic scientist. With her hair forever styled in braids, her favorite color is purple and enjoys listening to Chrisette Michelle. "Music is my way of expression."
Moniece Thompson, 16 Moniece Thompson is the only Wave 16 member repping for Queens. With a love for music, Moniece hones her craft at Brooklyn High School of the Arts. The Trinidadian-American hopes to be an entertainer one day, starting with a move to LA after high school. Her favorite color is purple, enjoys experimenting with hair dye, and believes Drake is her father. "Music lets me connect with people in a way I can't through speaking."
Kiara Edwards, 17 Kiara Edwards is a Brooklynite by way of California. Absorbed by the power of her voice, Kiara enjoys putting her thoughts, emotions, and views into poetry to reach a wide audience. Currently a student at the Brooklyn High School of the Arts, she hopes to become a journalist and work at VIBE magazine. Kiara's favorite color is red, likes wearing bouncy curls, and bumping to J. Cole. "Our music comes from the heart."
Rebecca Fraser, 16 Rebecca Fraser will not stand for injustice. Her writing centers around standing up for not only being a young woman in NYC but also the injustices reflected in her Brooklyn community. Currently a student at Life Academy for Film and Theater, Rebecca hopes to become a lawyer because she thinks the criminal system needs to be fixed and not everyone is being served justice. Her favorite is purple, likes to keep her hair protected in box braids, and blares J. Cole in her headphones. "Music is my way to escape reality."
