Mariachi Monumental de America
Plaza de la Raza Cultural Center continues its "Plaza Summer Nights" Outdoor Concert Series for Summer 2012, with the presentation of traditional Mexican music and dance. Classic ballads of love and life performed by award-winning professional musicians led by Juan José Almaguer. Founded in 1995, the group has shared the stage with many renowned artists over the years. With dedication and inspiration, Mariachi Monumental de America continues to raise the mariachi tradition to new heights.
The evening will also include Plaza de la Raza's Youth Mariachi Ensemble: Students perform traditional songs of this popular musical genre under the direction of Plaza instructor Irineo Yañez.
The evening will also feature Folklórico Pasión Mexicano and Plaza de la Raza Student Folklórico Ensemble: Colorful renditions of popular Mexican dances by students and professional dancers directed by Juanita López and Tony Ramirez.
