The Boathouse Sessions with Cristobal and The Sea
With the summer sun setting over the loch outside, join us for a set two-course dinner in the restaurant and some lively, thoughtful tropicalia pop (whatever that means) in the Boathouse and later in our cosy fireside bar. A unique experience for our first Sunday evening open in 2016
Named after intercontinental adventurer Cristobal Columbus, Cristobal and the Sea comprise musicians from such exotic corners of the continent as Spain, Portugal, Corsica and England. A proper union of diverse cultural influences, you can expect a rich, engaging performance featuring memories of Bossanova guitar, jazz flute, rock-folk and folk-rock, Beach Boys-esque harmonies and a kind of rhythmic Love-era psychedelia. They have created their own unique brand of dreamy tropicalia pop, never forgetting the power of melody to make a listener hear.
They released their debut album Sugar Now by Brooklyn producer Rusty Santos (Animal Collective, Vashti Bunyan, Grizzly Bear) on label City Slang, October 2015.
