AACE Seattle Section - Volunteer at PAWS
Please join us and be a part of AACE Seattle group volunteer at PAWS this year on Saturday, June 4th, 2016.
PAWS is a non-profit animals rescue group based in Lynnwood, WA with a satellite cats adoption center in the University District. Beside sheltering and adopting companion animals, PAWS also rehabilitate injured or orphaned wildlife. This makes PAWS unique from most other rescue groups. Since its establishment in 1967, PAWS has found home for more than 130,000 dogs and cats, and has cared for over 115,000 wild animals. That is almost 5,000 animals a year! PAWS funding comes from donations, and it relies heavily on volunteers to help fulfil its mission.
PAWS usually asks group volunteers to help with facility maintenance tasks such as small construction/building projects, painting and ground maintenance. These projects do not include hands-on contact with the animals, but they are all very important aspects of helping animals in their care. Volunteers who help PAWS with hands-on animal care go through extensive training and make a weekly commitment to a volunteer position.
The sign-up is free, and lunch will be provided at no cost to the participants.
Please make every effort to sign-up for this volunteer opportunity before 12:00 Noon on Tuesday, May 31st, 2016 so that the proper number of lunches can be ordered
