Christopher Mark Jones w/ Carly Bins
Christopher Mark Jones early musical itinerary included busking in Paris, the English folk club circuit, tours of Denmark and Holland, the Bristol and Rotterdam festivals, BBC and Capitol radio appearances in London, then electric clubs in Boston. These days you can find him in small concert series, house concerts and coffeehouses in the Midwest and the Eastern U.S.
His 1978 album for Transatlantic No More Range to Roam was released in five countries and distributed in the U.S. by Rounder. After forays into rock, jazz and swing, and time off to raise two sons, 2010s Heartland Variations marked a return to the soulful country and blues-inflected Americana narratives of the first recording. The dozen new songs of Suburban 2-Step were released in April of 2012 and found favor with folk DJs both nationally and internationally. His fourth album, Atlantica, was released in the Spring of of 2014 and reflects an expanded narrative palette including both urban and international themes. Incantations is in preparation for a 2016 release.
Ever since her first gig as a 6-year-old singing in her elementary schools annual talent show, Carly Bins has loved to perform.
Now 16 and a metro Detroit high school junior, Carly is an accomplished singer-songwriter with a voice thats a cross between Colbie Caillat, Melissa Etheridge and Taylor Swift. Her mature look and stage presence lead many people to believe shes far older than her actual age.
While Carly writes mostly for her acoustic guitar, she also writes for and plays the electric guitar and ukulele. When inspired, she is known to dabble a little on the piano.
As the current Michigan State Fair Superstar, Carly had the opportunity to record several of her songs in fall 2015 with renowned producers Chuck Alkazian and Nadir Omowale at Pearl Sound Studios in Canton, MI. The result of that collaboration - her debut EP, 3 A.M. - was released March 22, 2016. 3 A.M. is available on CD Baby, iTunes, Amazon, Google Music Store and other digital music sites. Physical EPs may be purchased at any live performance.
