Old Newcastle tour (Saturday 9th July)
A specially commissioned guided walk around the Old Newcastle area, suitable for all ages. The ticket cost includes admission to Newcastle Castle on the day of the tour.
Local tour operators Iles Tours will lead the walk, which will last approximately one and a half hours.
Setting off from the Castles Black Gate, you will journey through what was once the bustling medieval heart of the city.
Find out about the Neolithic settlers, Anglo-Saxons and Romans that made the area their home, as well as the Victorian trailblazers that led the Industrial Revolution.
This is an updated version of winter 2015/16s Old Newcastle tour, and now incorporates the history of the world-famous bridges across the Tyne.
The tour runs at a steady pace, avoiding stairs, however please get in touch if you have any queries regarding accessibility.
