A Moste Appropriatte and Ladyelyke Festivale of Playes by Laedeyes
It may be an old idea, but it sure is a good one: good art thrives when made by diverse voices. The Ruckus partners with three up-and-coming female playwrights (and three female directors) for a showcase of work new to the city, most of whichand were just guessing herewill pass the Bedchel test.

The Ruckus proudly presents:

A MOSTE APPROPRIATTE & LADYELYKE FESTIVALE OF PLAYES BY LAEDEYES

Featuring new work by Beth Kander, Cassandra Rose, and MT Cozzola, with the divine direction of Rebecca Willingham, Aileen McGroddy, and Kristin Davis

DATES & PLAY INFORMATION:

June 13 - Hazardous Materials by Beth Kander - directed by Rebecca Willingham

On a dreary day in 2015, new co-workers Hal and Cassie are investigating a Chicago apartment where an elderly Jane Doe recently died. In the same apartment in the 1950s, two women's lives unexpectedly intersected. With each object or truth unearthed or ignored in each era, one small apartment unfurls as home to a world of human longing.

June 20 - Children of Troy by Cassandra Rose - directed by Aileen McGroddy

Siblings Izzy Edelmar and Paul Sterling live in a family steeped with history. Even Izzy's ten year old son, Derek, notices the similarities between how Izzy and Paul look at each other and what happened to the last of King Priam's children. Now Izzy must figure out how to save herself and her brother before history repeats itself.

June 27 - Creep by MT Cozzola - directed by Kristin Davis

When a loving husband and father gets caught committing an unacceptable act, his family must quickly decide what matters most: Friends or family? Blame or forgiveness? Justice or mercy? An intimate drama about the power and the fragility of family.
