Molly Bloom - A Fourth Gorgon Production
Based on the infamous text of the "Penelope" episode of James Joyce's novel Ulysses, MOLLY BLOOM is a physical exploration of the thoughts keeping Molly Bloom awake as she lies restless in bed. Her thoughts journey through her childhood in Gibraltar, her married life in Dublin, her romantic pursuits, her sexual exploits, and her hope and desire for love and belonging. MOLLY BLOOM invites you to come along an unabashed and uncensored adventure into the mind of a woman.
Joyces Penelope is the final chapter of Ulysses, and was written as a stream of consciousness with only two punctuation marks in the entire chapter. When written in 1922, this chapter contained the longest sentence in English literature (4391 words expressed by Molly Bloom). Bloomsday celebrates the anniversary of June 16th, 1904, the day on which Ulysses takes place.

FOURTH GORGON THEATRE is an artist collective driven by our identity as female artists. Inspired by the three mythological Gorgon sisters (feared monsters with hair of snakes, whose faces turned men to stone), our mandate is to turn the traditional monster image of the Gorgon on its head by celebrating it. We seek to create performances that explore and challenge notions of the female experience. FOURTH GORGON THEATRE is Jocelyn Adema, Caitlin Fysh, Reanne Spitzer, and Annie Tuma. Together, we form the voice of the Fourth Gorgon. Past shows include: "You Know I Know" at the 2015 Toronto Fringe, and North Bay Fringe; as well as "Molly Bloom: A Staged Reading" co-produced with Ravenous Theatre.
