Terry Barber, International Countertenor
This rare countertenor uses extraordinary vocal range, versatility, and a Master's degree in historically informed performance, to entertain. A truly international artist, Terry has been a soloist for the Metropolitan Opera, Carnegie Hall, London's Queen Elizabeth Hall, and Moscow's Svetlanov Hall, to name a few. Past member of the Grammy-winning group Chanticleer, his voice can be heard on every major record label with a range of artists from Madonna to the London Philharmonic.
The entertaining Many Voices of Terry Barber classically-driven program includes recognizable melodies and audience favorites. Terry sings works for baritone, tenor, alto, and soprano, in French, German, English, Latin, and Italian. Includes La Donna e Mobile, Maria from West Side Story, Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah, Brahms Lullaby, Bring Him Home from Les Miserables, works by Caccini, Brahms, Bernstein, and more.
At the venue, the center section of the auditorium is reserved for series subscribers. General admission tickets are for open seating surrounding the reserved section. Subscribers and volunteers will be admitted at 6:15 to preselect seats; general admission begins at 6:30. After making seat selections, everyone is invited to visit PLPAs no-host wine bars in the Great Room and then enjoy an exhibit by an Artists' League member. The concert starts at 7:30 p.m.
