Folkadelphia presents: Jacob Augustine with Prairie Empire and Lauryn Peacock
"Jacob Augustine's music is, by definition, transcendent. His songs are gorgeously tender, raw, full of throaty urgency and wisdom." The Maine Magazine
With the support of St. George's United Methodist Church, Folkadelphia is excited to present an evening of brilliant and diverse songwriting, featuring Maine-based artist Jacob Augustine. Augustine recently released three "name your price" albums of emotionally stirring and starkly minimalist music on his Bandcamp page. Joining the show are Prairie Empire, a lush and captivating collective led by Brittain Ashford, and Philly's own Lauryn Peacock, who sings and writes with a singular exuberance.
The setting, St. George's, could not be more perfect. With historic Old City as a background, the concert, housed in the oldest Methodist Church building in America will be imbued with a certain awed, reverential quality. The combination of beautiful music in a beautiful space is sure to be awesome and inspiring.
