RESCUE THE PERISHING - by Jeanne Chenault Porter - THESPIS THEATER FESTIVAL 2016
This historical play is a feminist drama about the struggle for women's rights in 1910. Sarah Byrd, "Mother of the Bowery," and her blind contemporary, Fannie Crosby, composer of thousands of hymns, preside at the Mission. In the end both realize that they have to do even more than pray. They have to fight!
