The 2016 Find Your Voice Play Festival* will be held at Peninsula College June 3 11, spotlighting many eccentric characters inspired by northwest local yokels.
This years selection of winning plays is a smorgasbord of taste from lowbrow campy comedies to esoteric philosophical musings. Playwrights include Donna Latham, a Kennedy Center finalist, winner of the David Mark Cohen Playwriting Award, and proud member of the Dramatists Guild. Her plays Woo Her Like a Badass and Hairy Toe are featured in this years Find Your Voice show. Other quirky playwrights include PCs own Dr. Lara Starcevich, PCs guest director/designer Richard Stephens, former and current PC students including Jonathan Mitchell, Kate Henninger, Steve Berry, and Seattle playwright Suzanna Bailie. Directors include PC students and peninsula community members Megan Mundy, Richard Stephens, Kate Henninger, Sarah Tucker, Steve Berry, Stephanie Gooch, and Ingrid Voorheis.
Presented by Peninsula College and the Associated Student Council, showdates are June 3, 4, 10, and 11. Showtimes are 7:30pm nightly. Go to http://www.pencol.edu/events/find-your-voice-play-festival-misfit-manifesto for more information. Or you can contact Dr. Lara Starcevich, the festivals producer, at laras@pencol.edu if you have further questions.
Please note: This show is intended for mature audiences only. Tickets are $12 general admission, $10 seniors, and $5 for non-PC students with ID. All shows are free to PC students with ID. Tickets will also be available at the door the night of each show, based on available seating.
