Evening @ the Barn - The Glory Days of Hanna-Barbera Cartoon Studio
Please join us on Wednesday, June 8th at 7:30PM for our final Evening @ the Barn of the season. During this unique program you'll discover how Bill Hanna and Joe Barbera brought animated cartoons to network television, as told by animators Tony Benedict, Willie Ito and Jerry Eisenberg.
Tony Benedict is a Hanna-Barbera Studios animator, staff writer, storyboard artist and producer of cartoons that include, The Jetsons, The Huckleberry Hound Show, Yogi Bear, The Flintstones, Top Cat, Space Cadets, Touche Turtle, Yakky Doodle, Atom Ant, Secret Squirrel, Hokey Wolf, Ricochet Rabbit and Wally Gator.
Jerry Eisenberg is a television producer, animator, storyboard artist, and cartoon character designer. In 1961, Eisenberg was hired at Hanna-Barbera Productions, and co-created The Peter Potamus Show, designed the characters on Wacky Races, and worked in layout on programs such as The Jetsons, The Huckleberry Hound Show, Jonny Quest, and Wacky Races.
Willie Ito has been an animator/cartoonist for nearly 60 years. In 1954, he started at Walt Disney Productions on the feature Lady and the Tramp. Later, he worked at Warner Bros. Cartoons infamous Termite Terrace working with Chuck Jones on such classics as One Froggy Evening and Whats Opera Doc? He joined Hanna-Barbera Productions during the development of The Jetsons and remained for the next 14 years. His extensive credits include The Flintstones and The Yogi Bear Show.
Artwork and memorabilia from Hanna-Barbera will be on display in the main gallery. Refreshments will be served on the front deck and we'll have some special themed items in our famous $1 raffle. Yabba Dabba Doo!
