Una Noche de Flamenco! combines the sensuous flamenco rhythms from the lighthearted to the deepest emotions with authentic Gypsy costumes, choreography, and guitar accompaniment.
In one number, the company performs Zapateado de las Companas, Maestro Heredias original composition which celebrates the style of the Spanish equestrian through intricate rhythms and footwork that evoke the movements of a prancing stallion. Sounds of the dancers stomping their heels reverberate through the space as they act out the spirited scene. The performance is a testament to the genius of the award-winning Heredia, who also created the choreography.
A legendary guitarist, superb choreography and the rich history of flamenco create an exquisite combination.
Maestro Heredia is from Granada, Spain and is a direct descendant of the gitano flamenco puro tradition as passed down to him by generations of his gypsy family. He is credited with bringing flamenco to Colorado and has received numerous awards, including the Governors and Mayors Awards for Excellence in the Arts.
The Flamenco Fantasy Dance Theatre is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt nonprofit organization dedicated to the preservation of the pure Spanish gypsy and Andalusian art of flamenco.
