Hairspray, Jr. is that rare mix of tuneful music and silly, fun-filled characters that blends with important themes of racial inequality, intolerance and acceptance.
Join the Riverdale Rising Stars, Jr. as they approach this show with sensitivity and care; telling the story in our uniquely individual way; through the eyes of 70 seven to eleven year olds who don't necessarily represent the race, size or gender of the character they speak for.
It is an opportunity for these young actors and our audience to experience this well-known musical with a different approach; with the most important lesson being that it's a story of acceptance.
