Artist Trust Benefit Art Auction
Join Artist Trust for the 21st annual Benefit Art Auction at Seattle Center Fisher Pavilion on Saturday, February 9, 2008 where artists, arts patrons and arts-enthusiasts join together for one big night to support art at its source!
Expect over 700 artists, arts enthusiasts and community leaders to Party like an Art Star. The goal is to raise more funds than ever before to provide direct funding to individual artists of Washington State. This rockin Artist Trust event promises not only to benefit artists with the proceeds raised, but also to be an exciting, fast-paced evening with live and silent auctions, cocktails, dinner, dancing, and entertainment provided by some of the Northwests most talented performance artists.
This is our signature fundraising event of the year, said Fidelma McGinn, Artist Trusts Executive Director. Every dollar we raise goes back into supporting our grants, programs and resources. Last years auction raised more than $260,000, and we hope to surpass this figure in 2008 through the generosity of art lovers. In 2007 we were able to provide support for 77 artists through GAP awards direct Grants for Artist Projects. This year we are going for 100!
Highlights include:
o Art from Cat Clifford, Steve Davis, Jacob Lawrence, Margie Livingston, Patti Warashina and more! o John Curley from KING 5s Evening Magazine will be the evenings auctioneer! o Auction entertainment from the acclaimed rockabilly band, The Dusty 45s! o A special art section titled Shake, Rattle and Roll! maybe explain this a little o Three exclusive Benefactor Events: Art & Tell: a preview of Artist Trust patrons homes in the Capitol Hill neighborhood; Art Rocks: An art party at Pratt Fine Arts Center with glass demonstrations and a hands-on Monotype experiment with Artist Trust grant recipients; Art Preview: with curatorial luminaries from regional galleries and museums!
