Teifeld & Co. Insurance Services, Inc. Presents The San Jose Youth Symphony's "Season Finale Concert"
The San Jose Youth Symphony's Philharmonic Orchestra, under the artistic leadership of Music Director and Conductor Yair Samet, presents its Season Finale Concert, featuring internationally renowned pianist and composer, Yaron Gottfried in a Jazz Trio with Dave Captein, bass and Yonatan Oleiski drums, to be held on Friday evening, June 10, 2016, 8 pm, at the California Theatre, 345 S. 1st Street, San Jose, CA 95113.

The program will open with Sviridov's Overture to Time Forward!  and also include works by Gavrilin and Shostakovich. This concert will conclude with Mr. Gottfried's jazz remake of "Pictures At an Exhibition" by Mussorgsky, featuring himself at piano, in the jazz trio with the orchestra.

The San Jose Youth Symphony (SJYS) is one of the oldest and finest youth orchestras on the West Coast of the U.S. Founded six decades ago as part of the former San Jose Symphony, SJYS has a rich tradition of musical performance and education.

Our mission is to give young people a foundation for life through orchestral music. We create programs that assure young musicians achieve technical proficiency, musical knowledge and an emotional connection to music. We strive to make each performance for the community uplifting, spirited and exciting

The musicians of SJYS, all school-age youth, are chosen from more than 600 applicants through our annual auditions. The SJYS comprises 11 distinct performing ensembles: two full orchestras, a chamber orchestra, two flute choirs, two string ensembles, wind, saxophone, percussion, and harp ensembles.
