Playing for Peace
Sponsored by the Standing on the Side of Love committee at the Community Church of Chapel Hill, this concert is a unique cultural collaboration by children and for children. The program includes cross-cultural performances featuring guest artists Eric Pritchard from Duke University's Ciompi Quartet, local violin students, director of the Sound MInd School of Music Sangeeta Swamy, Raleigh's own middle eastern band The Habibi Band and young Middle Eastern musicians Amir and Ryan Jabr and Anas Marii.
The program will feature cultural and folk songs on doumbek and buzuq, the Bach Double concerto for two violins, original songs written by young violinists for the event, and classical ensembles and chamber music.
Tickets are $10.
