Carlos Oliveira, 7-string Braziian guitar, with Berkeley Choro Ensemble
Carlos Oliveira, 7-string Brazilian guitar, composer and arranger, returns to the Bay Area for a reunion concert with Berkeley Choro Ensemble. Carlos was a founding member with our group, which made its debut in January, 2010 at the Berkeley Public Library. Carlos relocated to his home city of Recife, Pernambuco, Brazil 4 years ago. We welcome his return and look forward to playing with him. Featured in this concert are Jane Lenoir, flute, Harvey Wainapel, clarinet, Ricardo Peixoto, guitar, Brian Rice, pandeiro/percussion, and Kiko Lazzarotto, cavaquinho.
We will perform Carlos' compositions, featuring our group in different combinations, as well as works by other Brazilian composers.
