A THEATRE NEAR U PRESENTS The World Premiere of "A Beautiful Glass" Composed by Andrew Lu, Annabelle Marks, Peter Willitis, Jeremy Samos & Jeremy Erman Book & Lyrics by Tony Kienitz (additional lyrics by Annabelle Marks) Produced by Tanna Herr Directed by Tanna Herr & Tony Kienitz Vocal Direction by Pierce Peter Brandt Choreographed by Ali Arian Molaei
SAN FRANCISCO & MOUNTAIN VIEW, CALIFORNIA, 2016 -- Once again the critically acclaimed, A Theatre Near U brings to the boards an original play designed to provoke, amuse and inspire. In response to the spate of recent teen suicides our communities struggle to understand, "A Beautiful Glass," explores the problem from not only a youth perspective, but from a cultural and historical one as well. Justin Capps, a victim of suicides, now devotes every hour of his days searching for a cure. In the process, he draws others into his research, most notably the quirky yet driven dreamer, Georgianna. Poignant and quite often, very funny, the evening should leave audiences with a new respect for the modern teen and confidence that our tomorrows will grow ever brighter.

Producer/Director Tanna Herr says, "In light of the devastation that is hitting the youth in our community, this year we decided to tackle the problem of suicide head-on in our newest original work. Keeping with our tradition of introducing irreverent ideas to Youth Theatre, I believe that we have created an uplifting love story while not shying away from this very real issue. It's been exhilarating to again work with our immensely talented troupe to bring 'A Beautiful Glass' to the stage. We look forward to sharing this exciting piece of theatre with our audiences.
