Putney Vaudeville!
PUTNEY VAUDEVILLE is the ongoing project of director Rebecca Waxman and musician Peter Siegel (of The Gaslight Tinkers). A showcase for first-class entertainment and community talent thats been delighting Next Stage audiences for two years, the event includes a stellar professional act, a rousing house band, assorted friends and neighbors displaying surprising talents, and good-natured audience engagement.
The June 2016 Putney Vaudeville will highlight the musical skills of Peter Siegel and guest player Donald Saaf, and feature virtuoso artist KALI QUINN as the headliner. QUINN is a facilitator of creative discovery, innovative storytelling, physical play and intergenerational dialogue whose work is beloved for its range, creativity, whimsy and compassion. She is based in Providence, RI where she teaches at Brown University and for Accademia dellArte in Arezzo, Italy. Kali has directed, performed and taught for the Pearl Theatre Company, Celebration Barn, MIT, Padua Playwrights, The DellArte Company, New England Center for Circus Arts, Boston University, Bucknell University, Clowns Without Borders in Guatemala & Grupo Galpao in Brazil.
This will be the first Putney Vaudeville since Next Stage re-opened earlier this year after a $1.2 million renovation. The space is now fully accessible, with state of the art sound and lighting, comfortable seating, great sightlines, and a dance floor. As always, refreshments will be served in the welcoming and warm downstairs space.
