42 Strings + Oysland Live at Cafe Cairo!
42 Strings is the collaboration between Althea SullyCole, kora (West African harp) player, and Muqi Li, zheng (Chinese zither) player, named after their instuments' respective 21 strings. MuQi has been studying the zheng in her native China for 12 years, while Althea has been studying the kora for 5 years, half of which have been spent in her native New York and the other half in Dakar, Senegal. Their performances consist primarily of original compositions, with the occasional traditional African or Chinese tune thrown in the mix.
