Elevating Beer with Science by the Cup & Triumph Brewing Company
"It scrubs the tongue slightly with a bit of oils and resins... stays very tropical with a hefty dose of malty biscuit notes. Mango, papaya, melon, cantaloupe, orange, pineapple...then the resins come in... Finish is dirty pine, dried mango, and hop resins"
Do you ever wonder what a 'malty biscuit note' or 'dirty pine' is in your beer? Are there truly objective 'notes' and qualities in that glass?
On Wednesday June 8th, Science by the Cup will dive into the science of the sensory with a Siebel palate training kit and Triumph Brewing Company! During this interactive tasting, we will go through a blind tasting of Triumph beer spiked with different flavor compounds (such as the molecules that drive bitter flavor in hoppy beers) to understand beer at a molecular level. Together, we will explore the chemistry and biology that makes a Sour, IPA, or Hefeweizen using the same palate training tools that beer professionals rely on.
Your ticket to this event covers the cost of the tasting, some light snacks, and a beer token for after the event.
