Dare to Dream
Inspired by an article that Dennis Guiney wrote for TESS back in 2015 (that we recommend you read sometime) we are excited to invite you to Dare to Dream.
https://www.tes.com/article.aspx?storycode=11008347
We know more about how education works than ever before, yet the basic model has hardly changed in decades. What would schools look like if we actually applied our knowledge? What if we seized the opportunity to take a long hard look at the school day and the environment in which everyone in school works? What if we looked forward as practitioners rather than following where politicians lead?
In this Creative Conversation you will be asked to dare to dream as I can't and wouldn't set out prescriptions for learning and teaching in the 21st Century. I believe this should involve dreaming about:
The physical environment of schools and how they interact with their community Looking at the current subject led curriculum Letting teachers create a space for their work Overhauling assessment Rethinking homework Involving teachers in curriculum design and delivery
