OPC-Grand Rounds-Suicide Screening in Adolescents and Adults
Cardinal Innovations will hold monthly Grand Rounds series, replacing the previous Lunch and Learn. It will be available via TeleCONNECT at all COCs and Corporate for all clinically-oriented staff (Clinical Operations, Community Programs, Community Partners, Medical, Network and Quality Management as indicated).
Staff will need register prior to the event. Please be on time for each training event. Anyone arriving 15 minutes late, will not be allowed to enter Grand Rounds.

Suicide is the 10th leading cause of death; homicide ranks 17th. It is the second leading cause of death for 15 - 24 year olds. Every day, approximately 105 Americans die by suicide (Centers for Disease Control). Females experience depression at roughly two times the rate of men (Screening of Mental Health). Females attempt suicide three times as often as males (Centers for Disease Control). Depression affects 20-25% of Americans ages 18+ in a given year (Centers for Disease Control). During this one hour training, we will not only review the epidemiology of suicide and depression, it will also review components of a good clinical suicide screen.
