Audition Workshops with N.M. Casting Director Kathryn Brink
Kathryn's Audition Workshop is geared specifically to Denver-based actors looking to gain insight and understanding to the opportunities and expectations in in the growing New Mexico and regional film and television markets.
As many Denver actors already know, the New Mexico film industry has grown and changed significantly over the last 5-10 years. As a regional Casting Director, Kathryn believes it is her responsibility to understand and translate the changes and expectations to actors looking to work in New Mexico. Her goal is to help to feel comfortable in the casting room and to identify each actors unique strengths and weaknesses so that the actor can work towards a self-comprehension of their unique qualities as an actor. The result will led to better auditions.
Kathryn wants each actor leaving the workshop to walk out with a clearer focus on what they personally want to work on to get cast. She also want the actors to understand that there should be joy in this process. And, perhaps most importantly, she wants every actor to understand that Casting Directors are advocates for the actors.
Colorado actors are entering the New Mexico market in greater numbers. Working with a New Mexico Casting Director before making the trip to New Mexico is a great way for Denver actors to understand the workings of a New Mexico casting room while gaining the confidence and skills needed to book roles with New Mexico productions.
