Downtown Wausau will once again become transformed with colorful pastel drawings for the 13th annual sidewalk art festival. This community event is for artists of all ages and levels of ability to participate in and for art enthusiasts to observe and enjoy. Last year thousands of spectators and hundreds of artist converged on the 400 Block for this fun event!

ChalkFest will be held Saturday, July 9 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday, July 10 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in downtown Wausau. A reception and award ceremony for participating artists will take place after the event on Sunday at the CVA Gallery.  

Cost to participate is $22. Each artist receives a box of 48 pastels and an assigned space. Pre-registration is required. Chalk spaces are available on a first come, first serve basis.    
Participants must be 12 years old for a reserved space.

Children 11 and under are encouraged to explore their artistic talents by creating their own chalk drawing from 9 am to 5 pm on Saturday and 10 am to 4 pm on Sunday, during the festival.

Question: Can I request two people to be next to each other after tickets purchased? The option wasn't there on mobile device.
Answer: Thank you for your question. Sorry, when setting up registration we did not realize that the questionnaire is only available to those who register from a computer. We did make note of this issue pretty quickly on our Facebook page. Please follow our Facebook page as we communicate with attendees and registrants about technical issues and other exciting things! You may request a space near another artist and we will do our very best to accommodate it; however, co-neighboring is not guaranteed.
