Artists Talk: Diversity on Chicago Stages
June 7 at 7PM Francesca's 1039 W Bryn Mawr Ave
FREE + option to purchase dinner/drinks
Join an engaging round-table discussion on diversity on Chicago stages with dance and theater artists. Are the stories we are telling reflecting the people in our city? What are theater and dance companies doing to increase diversity? A round-table discussion includes: Isaac Gomez (Victory Gardens), Sean Graney/Tien Doman (The Hypocrites), Jamil Khoury (Silk Road Rising), Meghan McCarthy (Chicago Dramatists), Brett Swinney (Chicago Artists Resource), Juan Villa (Actor/Writer), Andrew Volkoff (About Face Theatre) and YOU.
Moderated by Willa Taylor - Goodman Theatre, Director of Education & Community Engagement
The Artist Talk will be structured in Long Table format, encouraging "an open-ended, non-hierarchical format for participation. The Long Table acknowledges the sometimes uncomfortable side of both private exchange and public engagement, while celebrating the potential for new forms of knowledge-making and -sharing." Optional Francesca's Tuesday Night Dinner Special: Homemade Lasagna with your choice of soup or salad for $12.99.
