Ian Maksin plays cello and sings @ Salon des Artistes
After an incredibly busy season having performed across the country from Seattle to Miami, just before the big summer European tour, Ian Maksin will please his Chicago fans with a number of local appearances giving preview to several of his new projects. Next Friday, he will be hosting an intimate wine reception and share some of his brand new endeavors from the practice room: a one-of-a-kind cello-voice rendition of some of his favorite ballads from childhood and adolescence by such artists at Joe Dassin, Alexander Rozenbaum, B.B.King, music from iconic French musical Starmania and more.. And of course he will still play some regular cello fare: Suites by J.S. Bach, music by Ilya Levinson, his own original compositions and funky arrangements of rock, pop and jazz.
