Cider was a popular and locally made beverage 200 years ago and the Mount Vernon Hotel Museum and Garden (MVHM.org), is one of the few surviving Manhattan buildings built in the 18th century. Today, it's a historic site with a modern twist. It once was one of New York's most popular resorts, a "day hotel" or country retreat in the wilds of upper Manhattan Island. Within its walls one can see aspects of travel, leisure, work and play in diverse antebellum New York. Now the Museum entertains New Yorkers, and travelers too, with many unusual events: scavenger hunts, cider tastings, garden concerts, Victorian banquets, historic pie making, and events designed and tailored to today's busy and sociable New Yorkers. Join us for this evening's Artisanal Cider Tasting--a true taste of New York's past and present. Check out our website: www.mvhm.org.
