Sex Positions with Nina Hartley
Join Sugar as we welcome the one and only Nina Hartley for a very special workshop and benefit for The Woodhull Foundation.
Nina will review information about all the wonderful varieties of sexual positions that she's learned in as a performer in porn since 1984.
Nina Hartley is a sexual entertainer, activist, educator, and registered nurse who has starred in hundreds of adult entertainment films and videos, including Boogie Nights. As a "feminist porn star" and sex educator, Nina has taken her positive message to college campuses nationwide. Working with her husband and collaborator, I. S. Levine, together they've created a bestselling series of instructional videos.
Nina is on the Board of Directors of the Woodhull Sexual Freedom Alliance.
The Woodhull Sexual FreedomAlliance works to affirm sexual freedom as a fundamental human right, working towards a world that fulfills the words of the United States Supreme Court that
"our laws and tradition afford constitutional protection to personal decisions relating to marriage, procreation, contraception, family relationships, child rearing, and education. In explaining the respect the Constitution demands for the autonomy of the person in making these choices, we (the court) stated as follows:
'These matters, involving the most intimate and personal choices a person may make in a lifetime, choices central to personal dignity and autonomy, are central to the liberty protected by the Fourteenth Amendment. At the heart of liberty is the right to define one's own concept of existence, of meaning, of the universe, and of the mystery of human life. Beliefs about these matters could not define the attributes of personhood were they formed under compulsion of the State." Planned Parenthood of Southeastern Pa. v. Casey, 505 U. S. 833 (1992) quoted in Lawrence v. Texas, 539 U.S. 558 (2003)
Woodhull affirms and seeks public and social policies that affirm that the autonomy of the person, requires that all human beings control their own bodies, minds and spirits and therefore their destinies. This means that all persons are free of social and legal sexual oppression, and have the right to sexual self expression.
The vision of Woodhull is a world that recognizes sexual freedom as the fundamental human right of all individuals to develop and express their unique sexuality; to be personally autonomous with regard to bodily integrity and expression of body mind and spirit; and to enjoy sexual dignity, privacy and consensual sexual expression without societal or governmental interference, coercion or stigmatization.
**Sugar will retain $10 of the sale of each ticket. The remaining $59 will go directly to the Woodhull Sexual Freedom Alliance.**
