Bursts! Music Festival, Day Two
Accurate Records is proud to host the second night of the Bursts! Music Festival, featuring Kidd Jordan.
As college students, Accurate honcho Russ Gershon and Bursts! Bill Goldberg spent many evenings together in the storied 1970's jazz lofts of downtown NYC. A generation later, Bill's son Matt discovered dad's record collection and fell in love with the same music, partnering with Bill to promote concerts and bring young people into the fold.
Now the three join forces to revisit the loft jazz era and propel it into the future, presenting an inspiring evening of highly improvised, high energy music at the Accurate Records loft in Somerville.
The show is headlined by the legendary New Orleans saxophonist Kidd Jordan in trio with guitarist Donald Miller of Borbetomagus, and drummer Avreeayl Ra, an AACM member and Sun Ra Arkestra veteran. Up and coming saxophonist James Brandon Lewis will be their special guest.
Opening is the Italian Jooklo Duo, consisting of firebreathing saxophonist Virginia Genta and volcanic drummer David Vanzan.
The groups will join forces for a finale
This will be a party: we supply food and drink, and we ask you to bring more of what you like to drink and perhaps some food if you're in the mood.
The Accurate loft holds a limited number of people, so you are requested to reserve your space in advance. This is a pay-what-you-can event, but here is what we recommend:
