Emily Giffin at Boswell for "First Comes Love."
Boswell Book Company is pleased to present a ticketed event with Emily Giffin, author of seven bestselling novels, including her latest, First Comes Love. This event is cosponsored by Milwaukee Magazine.
Her newest story is about two sisters whose relationship has been fractured by a family tragedy. Meredith seems to have a perfect life. She thought she'd done everything right, marrying a great guy, raising a beautiful daughter, and working as an attorney at a prestigious Atlanta law firm. But as she grows increasingly restless, she can't help wondering if she got the love part wrong.
Josie, a first grade teacher, is single - and this close to swearing off dating for good. What she wants more than the right guy, however, is to become a mother - a feeling that is heightened when her ex-boyfriend's daughter ends up assigned to her class. Determined to have the future she's always wanted, Josie decides to take matters into her own hands. As the anniversary of their tragedy looms, painful secrets from the past begin to surface, and Josie and Meredith must not only confront the long dormant issues that divide them, but also come to terms with their own life choices.
Emotionally honest and brimming with Giffin's singular insight and humor, First Comes Love is a richly crafted story about family, forgiveness, and finding the courage to follow your own heart - wherever that may lead.
Emily Giffin is a graduate of Wake Forest University and the University of Virginia School of Law. After practicing litigation at a Manhattan firm for several years, she quit her job to write full time. Emily is the author of seven New York Times bestselling novels: Something Borrowed, Something Blue, Baby Proof, Love the One You're With, Heart of the Matter, Where We Belong, and The One and Only. She lives in Atlanta with her husband and three children.
Carole Nicksin, editor-in-chief of Milwaukee Magazine, will introduce Emily Giffin.
