The Death and Life of John Smith by Will Dunne
Written by Chicago Dramatists Resident Playwright Will Dunne and directed by Associate Artistic Director Rachel Edwards Harvith, The Collective presents, THE DEATH AND LIFE OF JOHN SMITH.
John Smith lies barefoot in a strange room. He doesn't know where he is or how he got here. A woman informs him that he is in Hell. That would explain why there are no doors or windows and why others who somehow come and go look slightly like demons.
But John is a devout Christian. Has he ended up in Hell by mistake? Or, after living a life of virtue and self-sacrifice, did he do something just before his death to earn eternal damnation?
