Pressure Cooker: Sundown at the Devil's House
Join Café Nordo for the launch of its brand new program, THE PRESSURE COOKER in which they challenge an up-and-coming writer/director to create an entirely new work from scratch!
This year's play is Sundown at the Devil's House, written and directed by Eddie DeHais. It's the Devil's last night on Earth, and she and her cohorts will titillate, beguile, and entertain the audience with stories of the Devil's greatest triumphs and darkest secrets.
The menu will feature a Buffalo Deviled Egg, Forbidden Garden Salad, House-made Jambalaya and a decadent Mississippi Mud Pie. Vegetarian options available.
Sundown is a capricious and fantastical pieces of anarchic theatre, live music, and strange goings-on that sinuously interlaces into a story about the Devil's love for music and mankind.
Eddie DeHais is an innovative storyteller who creates rich, visually-stunning work that examines humanity at its core. She is joined in this endeavor by the stellar cast of Christine Shaw White, Kai Curtis, Alyza Delpan-Monley, Cody Smith, and Mahria Zook. With a food menu created by Nordo chef Erin Brindley, music by Aaron Joshua Shay of The Mongrel Jews, and designs by local favorites, Zane Exactly, Cami Funk, Chris Leher, and Carolina Johnson, this evening promises to be a thrilling, unusual, and fun night of theater.
