Showered with superlatives by critics for his passionate artistry and amazing technique, the brilliant American pianist Thomas Pandolfi returns to Music in Corrales by popular demand after his exciting performance in our series last year. His programs feature not only beloved classical masterpieces, but also familiar works by modern masters from George Gershwin to Andrew Lloyd Webber. The Washington Post described him as an artist who is master of both the grand gesture and the sensual line.
Mr. Pandolfi's program is entitled Somewhere Tonight in America: A 20th Century Celebration. It includes "Appalachian Spring" and "El Salón México" by Aaron Copland; "La Danza de la Moza Donosa" by Alberto Ginastera; "Intermezzo No. 1" by Manuel Ponce; "Allegro de Concierto, Op. 46" by Enrique Granados; George Gershwin's "An American in Paris"; and Leonard Bernstein's "Fantasy on West Side Story" arranged by Mr. Pandolfi.
