Speakeasy Session: Lagunitas and High West
Welcome to the Speakeasy Sessions at Urge Gastropub & Whiskey Bank! We kick off this new series of custom events hosted exclusively in our as-yet unfinished future Speakeasy. Grab a ticket and get a glimpse behind the scenes as our Speakeasy is built out.
For our first session, we will be hosting High West Distillery and Lagunitas Brewing Company. Our Chef Erik Lobner will serve up five custom designed dishes, each paired with a Lagunitas beer AND a High West whiskey, served up either neat or in a mini-cocktail. In attendance will be Timothy Zohn from High West and Ryan Tierny from Lagunitas to talk about the beverages served. You will also go home with a logo'd Lagunitas glass to keep.
Here's the menu for the evening:
Course 1 Cod Croquettes: Breaded, Crispy Fried Cod Fish with Cayenne Aioli and Chives. Paired with Lagunitas Czech Pils and High West American Prairie.
Course 2 Bibb and Blue Salad: Bibb Lettuce, Maytag Blue Cheese, Candied Pecans, Pomegranate Molasses, and Orange Segments with a Citrus Vinaigrette. Paired with Lagunitas Aunt Sally Dry-Hopped Sour and High West BouRye.
Course 3 Lagunitas IPA Chili: Beer Braised Ground Beef, Cowboy Spices, and a Sweet Corn Bread Top. Paired with Lagunitas IPA and High West Double Rye.
Course 4 Grilled Hanger Steak: Blue Cheese Carmelized Onions, Tempura Fried Asparagus, and a creamy Lagunitas High-Westified Imperial Stout Demi Sauce. Paired with Lagunitast High-Westified Imperial Stout and High West Rendezvous Rye.
Course 5 Tobacco Creme Brulee: Tobacco-infused Cream, Vanilla, and Bruleed Raw Sugar. Paired with Lagunitas Undercover Investigation Shut-Down Ale and High West Campfire.
