In late 2000, John and Vickie Hershey placed the fields, forest, ponds and meadow of Owens Lake into a conservation easement with Inland Northwest Land Conservancy. Sixteen years later, this prized piece of property is a spectacular specimen of what the Pacific Northwest encompasses. From migratory birds, a resident moose and an abundance of natural plant specimens, this piece of savored land will take you back in time.
In our world today, with so many ways to read about history, exploring the Hershey Easement will provide you with a unique opportunity to not just imagine, but also to look back to a time when the lands were untouched. From the mirrored ponds, to Owens Lake, photographer Rich Leon will provide guidance on how to capture images of this beautiful treasure, with photographs that will preserve your memory of nature for future generations.
Rich Leon will provide two hours of instruction on landscapes, wildlife and basic photography. We will also be joined by Vickie Hershey as she shares her beautiful story of this untouched land.
