Napa Valley Royalty: A Wine Dinner with Bruce and Barbara Neyers
The history of California wine and cuisine could not be written without Bruce and Barbara Neyers in central roles. As both national sales manager for the esteemed Kermit Lynch Wine Merchants portfolio and himself one of the most widely admired winemakers in Napa Valley, Bruce Neyers has been a leader, mentor and pathbreaker for more than four decades. His wife Barbara was a founding chef and manager at Berkeley's legendary Chez Panisse restaurant, and has been an equal partner with Bruce in developing the Neyers Vineyards winery
Bruce and Barbara are also two of the kindest, most passion-fueled people weve ever met, and on May 20 Rosemont Market is honored and grateful beyond words to welcome them to our kitchen for a once-in-a-lifetime wine dinner.
The Neyers wines are models of terroir, marked by their elegance, balance, subtlety and classicism. They are that rarely achieved marriage of Californias warmth and richness with the restraint and soulfulness of France. Many lifetimes of insight, attention and care have gone into them. We will pour seven wines: Chardonnays, Pinot Noir, Bordeaux- and Rhône-inspired blends, and the remarkable Zinfandel. Rosemont Chef Bryan Dame will prepare a sumptuous meal to accompany them, designed with Barbara Neyers guidance.
This is a rare and unique opportunity: to taste some of Napa Valleys greatest wines, up close and personal with the closest thing American wine culture has to royalty. As always, well dine communally around our bakers tables, enjoy warm and fascinating conversation, and together create an unforgettable evening. Of course, Neyers Vineyards wines will be available for purchase at special discounted prices.
