Quetzal
Plaza de la Raza Cultural Center proudly opens its "2012 Plaza Summer Nights Outdoor Concert Series" with the presentation of Quetzal. The concert will also feature Plaza's Youth Rock en Español Ensemble.
Quetzal is an East LA Chican@ rock group rooted in the complex cultural currents of life in the barrio, its social activism, its strong feminist stance and its rock and roll musical beginnings. These highly talented musicians perform with a goal of creating good music that tells the social, cultural, political and musical stories of people in struggle. Their sound will simultaneously make you dance and contemplate change.
The evening will also include Plaza de la Raza's Youth Rock en Español Ensemble: Danceable rhythms and rocking tunes by students under the direction of Matt Amper.
