Basic Scene Building with Kristina Smarz (Beginner/Intermediate)

Play with different ways to initiate scenes and learn how to navigate the various gifts you might receive from your scene partner. In this workshop, you will enhance your skills of listening, emotion and physicality to build fun and engrossing scenes that erase the "work" from "scene work." This beginner/intermediate workshop is great for those currently in Zen 1-4 (or equivalent at other comedy schools.) A terrific opportunity to work with one of Boston's favorite improv teachers!
About Kristina Smarz: Currently a member of ImprovBostons Mainstage, Kristina has over 20 years of experience performing, as well as directing and teaching those of all ability levels. She first joined IB in 2004 as a member of Theatersports and has since then performed with the Touring Company, Mainstage, Face Off and various showcase shows such as Slainte, Girls Night Out, LuvBoat, Gorefest and Spice, which she directed and co-produced. As writer and producer, Kristina was a founding member of the Ruckus and Boston News Net. She also has a handful of local commercial and theatrical credits to her name, is a member of the Improv Asylums NXT cast, the Majestic Theaters in-house troupe the Majesters and is pretty handy with a pneumatic nail gun. Kristina has a BA in Theater (and English) and has studied at ImprovBoston, ImprovAsylum, Williamstown Theater Festival, numerous workshops and tends to talk to strangers.
