Luluc at Tiny Montgomery
Sunday, May 1st at 8pm
Luluc have mesmerized a new generation of folk listeners with Passerby, their critically-acclaimed debut album on Sub Pop Records. Co-produced by Aaron Dessner of The National, the timeless album is built around Zoe Randell's stunningly understated vocals, which Lucinda Williams has described as "the kind of voice that can make you cry." NPR's Bob Boilen called Passerby his favorite album of the year on All Songs Considered, and the band's music has been featured on Parenthood, Criminal Minds, and Grey's Anatomy. Luluc has toured with The National, Father John Misty and J Mascis and played many festivals including a stop at the Newport Folk Festival.
"I think the record 'Passerby'by Luluc is really incredible. I definitely have my Nick Drake moments, and my Bill Fay ones, and I really love that very stark, very direct thing. I played with Elliott Smith years ago, and I see them doing that same thing music that once you hear it, you can't live without it." - Janet Weiss of Sleater Kinney in NME
"I've played Passerbyon repeat, for months it was the only album I wanted to listen to." - Matt Berninger of The National
"... a collection of finely wrought modern folk tunes that convey a sense of tranquility and a hint of despair. Gently insistent and acutely observed, the Australian duo's songs transport the listener to a misty yet vaguely familiar world that's both lovely and somewhat foreboding." - Wall Street Journal,
